Well, Mother’s Day dinner went off with out a hitch. It was a vast array of living and non-living (does that mean dead?) foods. Dave and I did partake in grilled mushrooms, while others dined on salmon and chicken. We all ate brown basmati rice, salad and began the eating frenzy with corn & bean salsa and beet & carrot wraps.
While they had chocolate cake for dessert, Dave and I sated our sweet tooth with figs and dates. Hmm . . . do we get bonus points for that feat of willpower???
And today . . . . (drumroll please) we begin trying to juice/raw soup for 2 meals a day, breakfast and dinner, and do a more substantial veggie lunch. (Yikes!)
It went like this:
Breakfast
- Orange/grapefruit/celery/apple juice (yummy!)
- Handful of almonds
- Chai Rooibus tea
Lunch
- Corn & bean salsa with avocado spread on a wrap – Dave
- Left over beet & carrot wraps and watermelon
- More Chai Rooibus ea
Dinner
- Broccoli & Brazil nut “soup” with celery, veggie stock and touch of almond milk – it actually wasn’t bad!
Dave has now lost another 1.5 pounds. I’m still working on losing my mind!
