Detox – Day 10 & 11

I get fly with a little help from my friends.  Seriously.

I could never have gotten this far without a special group of friends from The Bindu. At the beginning of this journey (when I was really kinda freaked out and overwhelmed), I didn’t even have to go grocery shopping by myself. Thanks, Kelley!  And Pam provided a great living foods recipe book and dandelion greens (which I’m still not in love with yet!).

And the cybersupport has been just as meaningful.  Rapid fire email conversations about recipes to try, recipes not to try, where to shop, what to buy and the oh-so-important pep talks have been invaluable.  Thank you all – Allison, Stephanie, Mary, Robin, Kelley and Pam. What a great way to strengthen our yogic bonds!

I also have to thank Dave – a surprise front-runner in his dedication to the detox.  He’s been so patient, supportive and sporting, tasting everything that I’ve put in front of him.  At one point he said, “My father [a die-hard meat & potatoes guy] would have died if you had served him this type of stuff.”  🙂  I’m so thrilled that Dave’s  hanging in there!

So let’s get to it – here’s two days of eating:

Breakfasts

  • Pineapple/orange/apple/celery/ginger/mint juice (yummy!)
  • Mango/orange/grapefruit/ginger/mint juice (a bit tart but also good)
  • Almonds
  • Chai tea

Lunches

  • Kitchari (both days)
  • Watermelon
  • Raspberries

Dinners

  • Beets/apple/romaine/ginger (I had to add a bit of Stevia and even then it was tough to handle)
  • Spaghetti squash w/tomatoes, olive oil and spices (Dave had a green salad – we both need something  a bit more substantial than juice)
  • Dates & figs for dessert

11 days down, 11 to go! Woohoo!
